Since most amino acids have no absorption or only weak absorption in the ultraviolet region, in order to improve the sensitivity and separation selectivity, amino acids need to be derivatized so that they can produce strong absorption in the ultraviolet region and be detected by the detector. In the amino acid analysis method developed by Welch, Amino Acids are derivatized before the column. Complete sample preparation can be achieved in as short as 30 min.

Our proprietary surface modification before bonding generates a very smooth and uniform surface with less acidic surface silanol.
